Building a Cor Program

We build Cor Safety Programs for all different types of Industries, We do everything from Oil & Gas to Manufacturing and Construction. We consult with you and then build the manual and even train your safety person so they can maintain the program when we are done. We do mock audits along the way to make sure you are compliant. We are there for the certifying audit. We correct any deficiencies that might be found in the audit and turn the program over to you running and certified. Setting up a Modified Work Program

Modified work programs are actually mandatory in the province of Alberta and have been for several years now. Employers must offer injured workers modified work should they get hurt on the job. A good modified work program will save you costs from the WCB as any wages they pay out goes against your companies ratings. If you have too many claims companies will see a hight injury frequency rate and not want to hire your company. Often we manage WCB claims for our clients just to make sure everything that can be done to lessen the impact is being done. On average it costs about $800 to $1000.00 per claim.

How we work

  • We train one of your workers in health and safety and work with them from 3 to 6 months while the company builds documentation in preparation for the certification audit.
  • We build a manual based specifically on your companies needs.
  • We implement all of the new policies and educate all of the workers via safety meetings.
  • We do mock audits to get performance issues resolved.
Then we represent you during the external audit.
  • Finally we correct all deficiencies of that audit and then hand off a complete working program to your auditor.

Info for COR programs

All COR programs need to be audited by an external auditor for the program to come into effect. This is not part of the cor program pricing and ranges from $3000.00 for a small company to $12,000.00 and up for a large employer with 300 to 500 workers.

The time frames in which you can call an audit differ in each province. The minimum time frame is three months of documentation with the maximum being 12 months of documentation.

Some organizations issue a temporary letter of certification, but most organizations don’t offer that.

Why Choose CORtek for Your Safety Partner

We guarantee that you will get your COR

We work with you until you achieve it. After all, what is the point of buying a safety program if it doesn’t meet the criteria of your certifying partner? It doesn’t matter which certifying partner or which province you are in. We will get you your COR or you won’t pay – that’s a promise and it is part of our COR values.

You'll save money

When you consider your time that you will spend scouring the internet looking for policies and procedures to build a safety manual, it would be far cheaper to use our services and spend your time doing what you do best – your business.  A SE-COR Safety Manual is $2,500.00 and includes your first audit.  Our COR Manuals start at $4,000.00 and can go up to $15,000.00 depending on the number of workers in the company.

With our COR Program, we train one of your staff on how to do the job of a safety coordinator. We consult for up to a year as part of that package as well. We are there for the external audit and then we fix any items that were deficiencies and hand off a working program to your safety coordinator. We will even supply you with updates for the first year for free.

We don’t just create safety programs, we run them as well.

Yes, for a lot of small companies with 3 or 4 workers it is often cheaper to hire us to come in monthly and do safety meetings or orientations and site inspections. The price starts at $1,500.00 per month. We do everything for you including yearly audits and any reporting to agencies.

This includes keeping ISN and Complyworks up-to-date and updating any Ravs. When you work with CORtek, you always know you are compliant with current regulations allowing you to focus on your business.

Digital Reporting

We have new electronic programs that make doing your reports as easy as clicking a mouse. Companies with multiple branches can finally have stats from remote branches at their finger tips. You can see whether new workers have been orientated right on your screen.

You can track maintenance costs for each piece of equipment you own. You have the capability to upload pictures into the system with your cell phone for inspections and incidents.

We Maintain and Track Sub-contractors

We also maintain sub-contractors and track their performance for prime contractors as well. We will incorporate specific items that prime contractors want their sub-contractors to follow into their safety programs and educate sub-contractors on their responsibilities as they work for the prime contractor.

This includes doing inspections for compliance on sub-contractors on behalf of the prime contractor and create reports of compliance on a month-to-month basis. If you are a prime contractor of any size, you know you are responsible for ensuring your sub-contractors are working within the rules you have set out for them.
